Scott Lindgren is one of the greatest whitewater kayakers in history. He’s been on most of the greatest expeditions ever done. From the legendary first descent of the Tsang-po, the Royal Gorge and one of the highest descents of the Stikine,  just to name a few…

He’s the first person to complete the four rivers coming out of Mt. Kailash – Sutlej, Indus, Tsang-Po and Karnali. He’s a living legend in the kayaking world . We are honoured to have him representing Waka kayaks.

Scott’s beginnings in white water kayaking were on the forks of the American River outside of Auburn, California. As his skills developed and his fame spread, kayaking enthusiasts traveled to Auburn to learn from Scott. He accompanied his conquests of the the most extreme white water rivers around the world with a growing love of capturing the spirit of the rivers’ challenges in video, with techniques and equipment modifications never used before. The result were award -winning productions which added to his ever-growing resume of accomplishments.

He was honored by a film, The River Runner, that captured the heartwarming challenges through which he persevered to pursue his kayaking and life’s goals. It’ first’s inaugural showing was in Auburn, at the venerable State Theater, to a capacity crowd that included Scott’s family, both kayakers and otherwise.

Scott was honored by the City of Auburn’s Endurance Capital Committee, who sponsored his unique commemorative tile placed in the City’s Endurance Zone in March, 2023.
