The Tevis Cup
The Board of Governors of the Western States Trail Foundation (WSTF) welcomes you to an endurance riding event of distinction, recognized as one of the world’s best tests of true horsemanship.
Western States Endurance Run
The world’s oldest 100-mile trail race. Starting in Squaw Valley, California near the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics and ending 100.2 miles later in Auburn, California, Western States, in the decades since its inception in 1974, has come to represent one of the ultimate endurance tests in the world.
American River 50
American River has become the second largest 50 miler in the United States. The race attracts both veterans and novices alike. Whether you are attempting your first 50 miler or seeking a personal record, this race is for you!
Auburn Triathlon
The Auburn Triathlon will be a weekend you will never forget! This new downtown finish and festival will be incredible with great local beer, food, and festivities in the city square, making this event spectator friendly and fun for all.
American River Classic Equestrian Ride
Ride the beautiful American River Canyon through Cool and onto Auburn

The American River Classic is a fun, traditional and exciting ride, with challenging and technical trails.
FOUR-midable 50K
Come and participate in one of the most challenging 50K in the Auburn/Cool area. Elevation gain = ~ 6,000 feet. The name FOURmidable comes from the four major climbs along the course. It has been selected as the National 50K Trail Championship in both 2018 and 2019. Companion events include a 35K, a HALF MARATHON, and a 13K.
The Great Auburn Epic Race
This mountain bike race features four timed Cross Country Stages on the best trails in Auburn! Start and Finish are in the Raley’s parking lot at the Foresthill Exit off of I-80.
Way Too Cool 50K
Established in 1990, the scenic, challenging, and historic Way Too Cool has become one of the most popular 50Ks in the U.S. Like Western States, entry is by lottery only, except for a few of the swiftest of the swift. It attracts those new to ultra running as well as the veterans who attempt to return year after year.
