World Premiere! You Have More to Give, Doug (2020) 25 min Directed by Nick Danielson
Doug McKeever, a northwest ultra running legend. In 1993 Doug co-founded the Chuckanut 50k, which grew to become a “must run” race for ultrarunners in the NW and of one the premiere 50ks in the country. However, Doug has never been one for the limelight choosing rather to volunteer tirelessly for many races over the decades often asking for the most demanding and remote tasks. You probably don’t know but he had quite the running resume before a series of lingering injuries caused him to retire from racing in 2007. His first 100 miler was in 1988 at Leadville and he soon followed that up with a handful of the toughest 100s in the world over the next few years including top 20 placings at Hardrock and Wastach and a sub 24hr at Western States. In 1994 he successfully completed The Grand Slam. He also is an accomplished mountaineer, mountain guide and has put up many first ascents and remote mountain routes that combined his skills as a runner with his love of exploring and tackling difficult mountain peaks. After a 10 year hiatus from racing in 2017 he made a comeback and realized he had “more to give”.
