The Endurance Capital Committee’s Chair, Robert Miller, submitted these photos of the newly placed Bill Kirby In Memoriam Bench at Auburn’s Overlook Park off of Pacific Avenue.
Bill, an experienced pilot, died in a tragic plane accident near the Auburn Airport on April 20, 2020.
Bill was a huge fan of the Auburn, Endurance Capital of the World™ concept and was once an enthusiastic City Council member liason for the ECC. We remember his sage advice to our committee and his willingness to support our plans. Add that to his long list of contributions to the City of Auburn, his family, and his patients, and you will have a good picture of a kind and dedicated person who is missed by all.
The bench is perfectly located at the far end of the park with spectacular views of the American River Canyon, views he enjoyed during his many flights over the area.
