Report updated 3/26/20 with USATF Report and Official Results

Neither COVID-19 nor the stormy weather prevented the race management (Single Track Running) or the stalwart volunteers and runners from “enjoying” the challenges of the 50-Mile (the USATF National 50 Mile Trail Championship), the Marathon, or Half Marathon events on Saturday March 14.

Race Director Paulo Medina is no stranger to national championships – he has hosted two other prior to this one with his FOURmidable 50K races in 2018 and 2019. Knowing about recent regulations concerning the COVID-19 crisis, Paulo did his due diligence and received permission from the USATF events committee and other regional powers to stage the events. The caveat was to nix the race shuttles to the start where runners would be in close contact with each other.

Since the 50-Mile race was the 2020 USATF’s Mountain Ultra and Trail Running (MUT) Division  50-Mile National Trail Championship, it offered prize money beginning with $1000 for the men’s and women’s winners.

Official results for all 3 races may be viewed here, and race reports are below.
