We hope these images capture much of the emotion and inspiration of this world-famous Auburn-area event. The City of Auburn’s Endurance Capital of the World Committee hosted a booth near the finish line at the Placer High School Track. The first runner seen is the winner, Rob Krar, and the last one is Gunhild Swanson, who was the final finisher in a thrilling dash around the track to meet the official finisher 30-hour cut-off by 6 seconds. She is the only woman 70-years or older to have ever finished the WSER.
